Yes. MBBS degrees from NMC-listed Russian universities are fully valid in India. After completing your degree, you need to clear the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) conducted by NMC to practise medicine in India. Our partner universities are all NMC listed, ensuring your degree meets Indian standards.
The total cost varies by university and city. On average, tuition ranges from ₹3.5 to ₹6 lakhs per year. Hostel and food costs an additional ₹1–2 lakhs per year. There are no donation fees or capitation charges. The entire 6-year MBBS (including living) typically costs between Rs.25 and Rs.35 lakhs, which is significantly lower than private Indian medical colleges.
Yes, NEET qualification is mandatory for Indian students wishing to pursue MBBS abroad, as per NMC regulations. However, there is no minimum NEET score requirement for admission to Russian universities. You just need to have appeared and qualified. A minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at Class 12 is also required.
Most top universities offer MBBS in English medium, making it accessible for Indian students. However, learning basic Russian is highly recommended, particularly for clinical rotations and patient interactions in your later years. Most universities include a Russian language module in the first year. Safeway Edu also arranges pre-departure Russian language classes.
Typically required documents include: 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, NEET scorecard, valid passport, recent passport-size photographs, and a medical fitness certificate. Russia is home to a large Indian student community, particularly in cities like Moscow, Kazan, and Volgograd. Most universities have dedicated international student support teams and Indian Student Associations. University hostels are secure and well-maintained. Indian food is available near most major campuses. Safeway Edu's on-ground teams also remain available to students throughout their studies for any assistance.
Yes. Education loans are available from Indian nationalised banks (SBI, Bank of Baroda, etc.) for recognised foreign universities. Safeway Edu assists students in preparing their loan documentation and connecting them with lending partners. Scholarships from the Russian government are also available for eligible students, and we help you apply for those too.
Once you decide to proceed and submit your documents, the process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, covering the invitation letter, visa application, and pre-departure arrangements. We recommend starting the process at least 2–3 months before the intake date (usually August–September). Early applications get better university options and hostel availability.
